Development Since EBC’s founding in 1980, the organization’s most important accomplishment has been the development of hundreds of leaders from the communities of Brownsville, East New York, Bushwick and Bedford Stuyvesant who have exercised real power in their communities. These leaders were and are the driving force behind the construction of the thousands of units of Nehemiah Housing, the founding of new schools, the successful campaigns to make Brooklyn safer, and all the other important work EBC has done and is doing. |
